*69 Poker League

The *69 Poker League is an Austin, TX area poker league in its *EIGHTH* season. It's kinda like a bowling league... only a lot less shitty... and with cheaper beer.

Rules Changes and Game 2 Signups

First of all, since having a dedicated dealer is overwhelmingly popular, we're going to have one as often as possible. Sometimes it'll be Banni, sometimes me, sometimes someone else. More details at the game tonight.

Also, I'm putting in place a new system to get people to sign-up early and often, and also to play longer. The following changes will go into effect on Saturday (not tonight):

1) You may signup/RSVP at ANYTIME for ANY GAME. You don't have to wait to get my reminder emails to signup. Just email me or call me and let me know you want in for whatever game. In fact, if you'd like a 'standing' RSVP, meaning you want to be auto-signed up for every single game, let me know. If you plan to show up for most of the games, this would save you time as you'd only email/call me if you're NOT coming. Be careful though, as there are penalties for RSVP'ing and then not showing up.

2) Bonus points system has been completely redone:

ENCOURAGING PEOPLE TO SIGN UP EARLY...
- RSVP'ing (signing-up) now counts for 5 bonus points. You must RSVP by at least 5pm the day of the game to get these points. You can either email me or call me to RSVP. Remember, you don't have to wait for my reminder email!

ENCOURAGING PEOPLE TO KEEP THEIR RSVP...
- If you RSVP and you do not show up and play the game you sign up for, then you'll LOSE 5 points instead of gaining 5. You may cancel a signup, but it has to be done BEFORE NOON the day of the game. As long as I get an email or a phone message before noon saying you're canceling your RSVP, you're fine.

ENCOURAGING PEOPLE TO SHOW UP ON TIME...
- Showing up before the first card hits the felt is worth 3 bonus points. We're going to try hard to start at 8pm sharp, but all you have to do to get these free 3 points is be inside the house before the first card is dealt.

ENCOURAGING PEOPLE TO PLAY LONGER THAN 1-2 HOURS...
- After three hours of play, you get 1 point per whole hour you play. This means if you play 1 hour, you get 0 points, 2 hours, you get 0 points, 3 hours, you get 3 points, 4 hours, 4 points, 5 hours, 5 points, etc.

So if you do everything "right": RSVP before 5pm (5 pts), show up on time (3pts), and play at least 3 hours (3 pts), you'll get at least 11 points. Cool? Cool.

Here's the list for tonite... (as of 4:08pm):

1) Rob
2) Claire
3) Jason
4) Robert
5)
6)
7)
8)
